Chapter 7 - It's All Behind Them Now??

Jon stops in the middle of Beth's bedroom and just stands there, looking around.  He let's himself imagine the terror that she felt, the fear that she felt and now he can imagine how she must be feeling,  right now.

He understands her what she means when she feels like she's going to be sick.  He understands why she doesn't want to talk about it and he can see that she's going to push it down and not deal with it.  He's not going to let that happen.  He's going to pull her through it if he has too.  That's exactly what she would do with him.

With one last look, scanning the mattress that had patches cut out of it, his though is This is the last time we will step foot in this house.  And he leaves the bedroom.

Back in the kitchen he's with Beth, Tony and the Captain.  Jon looks at Tony, "Can you get someone to clean this place up, pack it up and ship her stuff to Jersey?  We'll put the house up for sale when we get it empty, cleaned and fixed.  I can't believe what that asshole did."

Tony looks at Jon and then at Beth, "Yeah, I can get it taken care of.  Is that what you want me to do Beth?"  Jon shoots him the stink eye, and Tony reacts.  "Well, this is her house and her things, I would like to know that that is what she wants, Jon."

Beth nods her head, as she looks at the holes in the wall and the framed artwork that's busted all over the floor.  "Yeah, that will be okay.  I don't want to come back here.  Just find someone that can do it, Tony.  You don't have to do it.  Have them bill me directly"

Jon jumps in, "Can you ship that cedar chest today or tomorrow?"  Jon asks his little brother.

"Why don't you take it with you?"  Tony asks, knowing that Jon has his plane waiting for them at LAX.  "Grab what you can and take it with you."

"That's a good idea."  Beth says as she pushes Jon toward the bedroom, "Can you go grab that babe?"

Jon disappears down the hallway and Tony followed him.  Tony thought he could give his brother a hand.  The two men retrieve the cedar chest and take it out to the car.  Placing it in the trunk, the two men are alone.  "Can you please take care of everything that makes this place look like a crime scene.  It's not good for the market value."

"Yes, Jon.  I'll get it taken care of." Tony barks back.

Beth and the Captain walk out to see what they're doing.  "Is it okay to take all of this tape down now?  My neighbors shouldn't have to look at it."  Beth asks the big guy in charge.

The Captain walks around and takes care of the tape.  When he's finished, he walks up to the 3 of them and says, "Well, my job here is done.  Is there anything else you need from me, Beth?"

"No Captain, I think we're all set." she looks at Jon, giving him the opportunity to talk.

Jon extends his hand to the Captain, "We are all set.  Thank you Captain for your hard work regarding this situation.  Please keep us informed as to what's going on with the case.  We want this asshole locked up for a very long time."

"Will do." he replies and excuses himself.

Jon and Beth do a quick walk through of the house and Beth grabs what she thinks she may need.  She grabbed a Gucci bag from the closet and threw all of her personal papers in it.  Not wanting anyone to get their hands on any of her personal information, including bank statements and anything else that could be used to affect her in a negative way.  She throws a few things in Jon's arms and says, "That's it, I guess.  Anything else can wait to get shipped.  Again."  Beth had everything shipped to New Jersey once before.

They say goodbye to Tony and leave her house in Malibu, for what she thought would be the last time.

  1. I still can't believe what that jackass did to her house. Not to mention the things that belonged to those precious babies.
"They say goodbye to Tony and leave her house in Malibu, for what she thought would be the last time." That has a very foreboding feel to it. I sense more trouble in their future.
